I was listening to a track by L.e for the Uncool today and the above phrase was said. Although I’m NOT Muslim, that phrase had me reflecting on my past relationship. As an Adventist, I grew up hearing that, especially in a relationship, one should NOT be unequally yoked. I learned the heard way of how SERIOUS OF AN ISSUE differences in religious views can be in a relationship. They become magnified especially when thinking long term. Although I’m not fully healed from that experience, I’ve accepted my past experience for what it was and we both have moved forward. Insha-allah ya Rasha….Insha-allah.
I was asked a few days ago to find a match up for the HOT LIMES, and this is what I was able to come up with. Seeing that it is fall/winter season, its kinda hard to find match ups for bright colored kicks. I did my best, so hopefully they go well. The first shirt is by Diamond Supply Co. The second shirt is by Orisue. The third shirt is by Lifetime Collective.

JD Sports retroed the OG Hot Lime Nike Air Max 90 in March ‘08. The Hot limes are a definite nice pickup for any collector - especially with hits such as the white mesh toe box and that lime air bubble!
1) The Dark Shades.
Now, you may be thinking, well aren’t shades normally an accessory associated with warmer months? I agree they are; however, to me, there’s nothing more stylish than a pair of dark shades paired with your fall get up. Many discredit the strength of a pair of shades. And quite frankly, shades can be worn year round. Currently, I’ve putting my pair of Ray Ban Wayfarers to good use. They are a timeless model than can be worn in any era.
2) The Leather Jacket.
A good leather jacket - whether biker, bomber, varsity, or military are all essential fall gear. I must stress that either BLACK or BROWN leathers are appropriate for fall. Last fall, I saw the entire color palette - from lime green to purple. For a male, its completely unacceptable!! I’m not afraid of color, but lets be reasonable. Details, such as, stand-out zippers, distressed leather, textured lining, and lapels can really add a nice touch to your jacket when choosing one. My jacket of choice, at the moment, happens to be a brown bomber from Ben Sherman’s Fall ’ 08 line. The quality is impressive. I’m also working on designing my very own varsity jacket, so stay peeled for updates on that.
3) Peacoat/Trenchcoat.
I was harassed last fall/winter by my other half when I didn’t cop myself a Peacoat or Wool Trench. I underestimated its style points and practical effectiveness. I hadn’t tried on a Peacoat or Wool Trench since my younger days and I must say, they are pretty warm. Most definitely a timeless piece. There are a ton of colors Ive spotted - navys, meltons, olive, grey, tans, and blacks. The jury is still out on my color choice, but I’ll be sure to update you.
4) The Hoody/Crew neck/Shawl.
I believe this goes without saying, that a hoody/crew neck/shawl are essential to every fall lineup. The whether is cold enough for a warmer upper layer but NOT a full down jacket. There are a ton of brands that have dropped crews/hoodys/shawls that Im a fan of - Supreme, Huf, 10 deep, J Crew, Band of Outsiders, PlayCloths, and Uniqlo. Colors and designs may all vary, but when choosing a hoody/crew neck/shawl for the collection, I like to balance a little of the simple with the complex so as NOT to go overboard.
5) Jordan V (Black/Metallic Silver).
Although I have also copped brown colored sneakers of late for this season, and surely will put them to use. The Jordan V (Black/Metallic Silver) has to be my all-time favorite pair of sneakers. I have 5 pairs of these on ice and Im always on the hunt for more! If given a choice to only wear ONE pair of sneakers for the rest of my life, it would be THESE! HANDS DOWN! In any case, I feel these are essential to my lineup….because I SAID SO. Feel free to add the sneaker of your choice here.

I’ve been really busy the past week. I managed to get a new gig, working on the varsity and now a denim jacket, gettin my official logos together, workin on some custom kicks, coppin new pickups, tryin to get more spiritually sound, and in my relatively sparse free time I’ve been listening to a lot of L.e. for the Uncool. Who is L.e.? Well, he’s a rapper from Ohio who has a track entitled “IMMA BE LATE FOR THAT”. That’s exactly how I’ve felt for the entire past week - from being late to work and appointments to procrastinating on some of my projects. However, no worries yall, it was nothing a good ‘ol fashion weekend couldnt mend. I managed to get a decent amount of rest in and im ready to go…………
